Responsible Gambling
Local Hospice Lottery is licensed with the Gambling Commission under the Gambling Act of 2005 and is also a member of the Hospice Lotteries Association (the HLA), a collective body committed to ensuring that fundraising lotteries such as ours operate in a responsible manner and are promoted in such a way as to encourage supporters to gamble sensibly.
In accordance with the requirements of the 2005 Act, the HLA makes a contribution, on behalf of its members, towards the work of the Responsibility in Gambling Trust (RIGT), which exists to tackle problem gambling in Britain through the funding of treatment, research and education relating to problem and addictive gambling.
