ST LUKE’S HOSPICE
St. Luke’s Hospice is dedicated to the care and support of people in the Basildon, Thurrock and surrounding community with an advanced life threatening illness.
Services are provided at our main Hospice, situated to the South of Basildon Town Centre (adjacent to Basildon Hospital), and our Information Resource Centre (St. Luke’s House) situated in Corringham. We also care for patients in their own homes through our Hospice at Home Service.
Since opening in 1990 we have supported thousands of people through the diverse range of services we offer. Our reputation is among the highest. The quality of 
care our staff and volunteers deliver twenty four hours a day, seven days a week is consistently high, caring effectively for complex Cancer cases as well as any other advanced life limiting conditions which include Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone, Parkinsons, HIV/Aids and Heart Failure patients. Our commitment to care extends beyond our patients to their family, friends and carers as well as the general community through our specialist Children’s Bereavement Counselling service and Information Resource Centre.
We are a non profit making registered charity. Our commitment to care is only possible because of people like you. As our costs rise day by day we need your help to enable us to meet the increasing demands made on our services. Although receiving support from our Local Primary Care Trust we will have to strive hard to maintain our income levels for the coming years. Our running costs for the year 2009/10 are budgeted to be £2.8 million which means we need to raise £7,751 every single day if we are to maintain current service levels.
Money raised by our partnership in the Local Hospice Lottery is used for direct patient care, so by supporting us and taking part in the Local Hospice Lottery you will be helping us to care for our patients today as well as helping us to plan for the future; giving us the confidence we need to continue providing a quality care service for the people of Basildon, Thurrock and surrounding areas.
