St Clare’s Hospice
St. Clare’s Hospice is based in Jarrow and offers specialist palliative care to adults facing life-limiting illnesses living south of the Tyne. The Hospice has been providing care to the local community since 1987 and currently sees over 3,400 patients every year, whilst also supporting their families and carers through what is inevitably a very difficult time.
The Hospice provides a range of flexible services and follows a holistic approach that aims to address not just the physical symptoms, but also spiritual and emotional needs of the individual too.

All of the Hospice’s services are given completely free of charge and delivered by a team of highly skilled specialists and this is only made possible through the ongoing generosity and goodwill of the community it serves.
St. Clare’s Hospice needs to raise over £5,000 every day to keep its essential services running and the money raised through people playing the Local Hospice Lottery is crucial in enabling the Charity to keep caring for local families.
All profits are donated to hospice care and after marketing costs, Local Hospice Lottery will give between 50% and 80% of proceeds from individuals playing to supports Clare’s Hospice to St. Clare’s Hospice. This is expected to be at least £350,000 over five years from November 2017.
