Yes! You can choose your preferred hospice to support when you sign up and they will then directly benefit from every £1 entry you buy.
Based on estimated draw-entry numbers in 2026/27, the likelihood of winning a prize in the weekly draw is, on average, 1 in 1,063. Similarly, for the June, September, December and March Super Draws the likelihood of winning a prize is estimated at 1 in 4,715. One chance in Local Hospice Lottery’s weekly draw costs just £1, however players can increase their odds of winning by having more than one weekly chance if they wish.
Hospices benefit from the Local Hospice Lottery by receiving a share of the funds raised from ticket sales. In 2025, for each £1 entry in the weekly draw, the Local Hospice Lottery gave an average of 68p to hospice care. The lottery helps to generate a regular and reliable source of income for local hospice services, allowing them to continue providing essential care for people with life-limiting illnesses both now and in the future too. The more people play, the more each hospice receives.
Cheques are valid for six months from date of issue. Any cheques that are not cashed after six months will be treated as a donation to the hospice you have chosen to play in support of.
The lottery draw takes place every Monday, except on Bank Holidays when it’s rescheduled to the next working day. Players playing in support of all of our hospice partners enter the same weekly draw.
Yes, you can have more than one game number if you choose and increase both your chance to win and the support for your chosen hospice.
Prizes are generated as part of the draw process and sent automatically to winners. So you don’t even need to worry about checking the weekly number(s) and claiming your prizes. If you are lucky enough to win a prize of £500 or more, someone will contact you to give you the good news and double check your details before the prize is sent.
Our four seasonal Super Draws take place on the 3rd Monday of every March, June, September and December – giving you four chances to win £10,000 annually!
Regular weekly players are automatically entered into all four of the Super Draws.
And through paying £72 per game number annually, players will also receive up to 20 additional entries annually (i.e. 52+20=72) with these extra chances being split between the four Super Draws (taking place every March, June, September and December).
In addition, anyone, regardless of whether they play the Lottery on a regular basis, can purchase entries into the Super Draws for hospices who have chosen to participate in the associated campaigns. This is usually promoted by the hospices via email and social media platforms.
Essentially, Local Hospice Lottery adds an additional top prize of £10,000 into the weekly draw four times a year – for the draws which take place on the third Mondays of March, June, September and December – making these weekly draws ‘Super Draws’.
In these draws, the £1,000 prize is also guaranteed to be won and the rollover amount from the previous week is held and will carry over on the week after the Super Draw. The total guaranteed prize fund for each of these draws is therefore £16,800!

Entry into the Local Hospice Lottery draw costs as little as £6 every month, per game number, and people can also choose to pay £18 quarterly, £36 half yearly or £72 annually if they prefer.
Paying £6 per game number, per month (or equivalent frequency), guarantees our players entry in all 52 of our weekly draws. PLUS it also provides them with five additional chances in each of our four seasonal Super Draws – giving you 20 more chances to win £10,000 EVERY YEAR!
If a payment is missed, you will simply not be entered into the next draw. Once payment is received, your entry will automatically roll over to the next draw.
Local Hospice Lottery accepts various payment methods, including Direct Debit, Standing Order and Debit Cards. Our preferred method is Direct Debit. We cannot accept Credit Card payment. You can choose to pay monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually, depending on your preference.

If you pay by Standing Order, you will also need to contact your bank directly to cancel the payment with them. This is something our team is unable to do for you. So, if you fail to notify your bank, your payments will continue to be sent to us.
