Woking & Sam Beare Hospice
Woking and Sam Beare Hospice is a patient centred charity; The care and support of their patients and those closest to them is at the heart of everything they do.
The Hospice supports thousands of patients each year across North West Surrey; in 2023 alone, they cared for 2,000 patients and their families. This equates to 8,760 hours of care and 80% of which was provided in patients’ homes.

How playing the Local Hospice Lottery helps Woking & Sam Beare Hospice
Profits from the Local Hospice Lottery help towards Woking & Sam Beare Hospice running costs and provides a regular stream of income which they can rely on receiving, each and every month. Not only does this help to provide essential care and support to families in and around North west Surrey now, it also enables the Hospice to plan and develop their services for the future too.
In 2022, £11.9 million was raised from ticket sales, with 3% spent on prizes, 12% spent on administration and management and 19% reinvested to recruit new lottery members. The remaining 66% was given to hospice care – an amazing total of £7.83 million. Local Hospice Lottery will give between 60% and 80% of profits from individuals playing in support of Woking & Sam Beare Hospice to Woking & Sam Beare Hospice. This is expected to be at least £1,200,000 over five years from March 2024.
