In August, Nichola (left) was delighted to receive a call from Tahindri (right), Princess Alice Hospice Individual Giving Officer, to give her the exciting news that she had won a massive £2,000 in the Local Hospice Lottery! Having never won anything this big before, she couldn’t believe it when she got the call. She continued to say that she began supporting Princess Alice Hospice after her employer ran a charity event to encourage staff to help local charities.
Nichola is planning on using the money to buy a new phone and help with a holiday the family is taking soon. She said: “Supporting Princess Alice Hospice has always been something I’ve been happy to do. I know about the wonderful care patients are given and the beautiful environment it’s given in. We never know what will happen in the future, but I’d be comfortable knowing I was in their care. I didn’t go into it with a mindset of winning, it’s just my way of contributing, so I was blown away when I actually did win!”
Princess Alice Hospice joined the Local Hospice Lottery family just 1 year ago and, in that short time, over £300,000 has been raised through the generosity and support of regular players like Nichola. This goes a long way towards helping the Hospice to continue delivering exceptional specialist care to those with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones.
