North London Hospice has been caring for local people affected by life-limiting illnesses and with specialist needs since 1984. They are the local hospice for adults across the communities of Enfield, Barnet and Haringey, providing a number of services.

 

The Health and Wellbeing Centre in Winchmore Hill is North London Hospice’s setting for their Outpatient and Therapies service. The centre has a multi-professional team who work with patients to enable them to live as well as is possible, focussing on what is important to the patient. The hospice provides specialist 24-hour care at their in-patient unit in Woodside Avenue. Their aim is to help patients maintain their independence and dignity in a warm and supportive environment. They also have a team of trained staff and volunteers who are able to offer individual or group bereavement support to people coping with the loss of a loved one.

 

Each year the hospice supports around 3,000 patients, and those closest to them, and all of its services are given completely free of charge. With over £13 million needed to run their vital services each year and only 40% of funding coming from the Government.

 

In 2020 for each £1 entry in the weekly draw Local Hospice Lottery gave an average of 68p to hospice care. North London Hospice is one of a number of hospices throughout Great Britain supported by Local Hospice Lottery. Local Hospice Lottery will give between 55% and 80% of profits from individuals playing in support of North London Hospice to North London Hospice.

 

With the help of wonderful supporters like you, this is expected to be at least £150,000 over five years (from February 2021)!
