Nigel has kindly supported Dorothy House Hospice Care since 2011 after the Hospice cared for his mother who unfortunately had AML (Acute Myeloid Leukaemia). The care she received had such an impact, that it made Nigel want to give back to the Hospice and its dedicated staff by playing the Local Hospice Lottery!
Nigel was one of the lucky winners on the day of the September Super Draw, winning a massive £2,000 on 30th September! When he visited the Hospice, Nurse Lyn (the Day Hospice Community Lead) presented him with his winning cheque. He said he will be spending the money on a cruise next year with his partner. They plan to fly to Malta and cruise from there to Croatia, taking in parts of Italy on the way.
Since Dorothy House joined the Local Hospice Lottery in October 2014, players like Nigel have helped to raise over £4 MILLION for their incredible hospice care so far! Every year, the Hospice cares for over 2,000 people, so those £1 plays have gone a long way in caring for the local community! 💜
