Lucky Berni (pictured left), a nurse from Eastbourne has just received an amazing £2,000 by playing the Local Hospice Lottery!
Berni, the hospice hero, has been playing the Lottery since 2022 in support of St Wilfrid’s Hospice (Eastbourne). She said, “working at a GP’s Surgery, we link with the nurses from St Wilfrid’s Hospice, and I’ve known people who have died there”.
When asked about what she would spend her well-deserved winnings on she said: “I was genuinely surprised! Winning this money is a really positive thing to happen and I’m going to spend it on visiting my brother in Canada as I haven’t been out to see him for more than two years.”
St Wilfrid’s Hospice (Eastbourne) joined the Local Hospice Lottery family ten years ago in 2015 and since then, over £3.1 million has been raised through the generosity and support of regular players like Berni. This goes a long way towards helping the Hospice to continue delivering exceptional specialist care to families in the community.
