Gary Hawkes, CEO, wins Special Recognition Award!

Local Hospice Lottery is delighted and extremely proud to see our very own CEO, Gary Hawkes, win this year’s prestigious The Lotteries Council’s ‘Special Recognition Award’! 🥳

The award was presented at the annual conference in Kenilworth on Wednesday 22nd May and recognised Gary’s significant impact on hospice care, and the lottery industry as a whole, over the years. Gary has been the driving force behind Local Hospice Lottery since its inception. His incredible dedication and pioneering influence have made him a very worthy winner.

Here is what Gary had to say about winning his award. “Having overseen Local Hospice Lottery’s development from its early days operating solely in mid Essex for Farleigh Hospice to now be one of the largest lotteries in Great Britain working with 37 hospices and having contributed over £60 million to hospice care, I was delighted and honoured to receive the ‘Special Recognition Award’ at the Lotteries Council Conference last night. The kind words from the Council at the ceremony were greatly appreciated and very humbling. I’d like to acknowledge and thank the fantastic team at Local Hospice Lottery and our players for all they do to support our partner hospices. It’s a pleasure working with such a supportive, professional and ambitious team and I very much see this wonderful award as a whole team effort.”

Please join us in congratulating him wholeheartedly on this much deserved award Well done Gary!👏🏆
